Khatron Ke Khiladi, a stunt-based Indian television show airing on Colors fashioned after the American reality show Fear Factor aired on AXN, entails an average of twelve celebrity contestants who face scary challenges and death-defying stunts to win the show.

Hosted since 2008, the show has successfully completed twelve seasons, introducing and more and more fear inducing stunts in each season and inviting over 140 celebrities to face their worst fears on reality television.

Those who are unable to ably face their worst fears are eliminated from the show and the last man standing is awarded the title of the show.

The show has been hosted by big names in Bollywood including Priyanka Chopra, Rohit Shetty, Arjun Kapoor, and Akshay Kumar.

Contestants have included big shots like Mandira Bedi, Milind Soman, Terrance Lewis, Poonam Pandey, Karanvir Bohra, Rashmi Desai, Siddharth Shukla, Karan Wahi, Shibani Dandekar, and many more.

The premise of each season of Khatron Ke Khiladi is that between ten and seventeen celebrities are given different daring tasks to accomplish and are retained or eliminated based on whether they succeed in accomplishing said dares.

1. Nethra Raghuraman

Nethra, being a model-turned-actress, is most popularly known to have appeared in films like Thakshak and Bhopal Express.

Since her success at Khatron Ke Khiladi, she was most recently seen in 2016 film Bhagya Na Jaane Koi.

Netra has long been regarded as a “Bollywood wannabe” and has not been heard of since her 2016 cameo in the aforementioned film. 


The prize for the pilot season of Fear Factor- Khatron Ke Khiladi hosted by Akshay Kumar in South Africa in 2008 was awarded to daring model Nethra Raghuraman.

Raghuraman won an amazing cash prize of Rs. 50 lakhs at the end of the first season having closely beaten the runner up for the season Urvashi Sharma.

2. Anushka Manchanda

The second season of the show, hosted once again in South Africa in 2009 by Akshay Kumar, awarded the title to singer and music producer Anushka Manchanda who competed with runner-up model and actress Jesse Randhawa for the coveted prize of Rs. 50 lakhs.

 Anushka, a former VJ, composer, creative entrepreneur, activist, and actor in internationally acclaimed film Angry Indian Goddesses.

Manchanda has lent her voice to numerous Bollywood hits including the title song of film Ek Main Aur Ek Tu, Mann Basiyio Sawariyo from ABCD, and Allah Duhai He from Race 3.

She was most recently seen on online show Son of Abish in 2018 and her dynamic presence in the film and music industries are felt internationally.

3. Shabir Ahluwalia

Hosted by superstar Priyanka Chopra, the third season of Khatron Ke Khiladi was held in Brazil in 2010.

The season’s title and the accompanying cash prize of Rs. 50 lakhs was won by TV actor Shabir Ahluwalia of Kumkum Bhagya fame and squash player Ritwik Bhattacharya earned the title of runner-up for the season.

Ahluwalia was previously seen in shows like Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kkavyanjali, Kasauti Zindagi Ki, and Kayamath, among others.

He was seen on Laagi Tujhse Lagan, Kundali Bhagya, and Bhagya Lakshmi after winning his Khatron Ke Khiladi title and has also hosted Nach Baliya, Dancing Queen, and Guinness World Record- Ab India Todega.

4. Aarti Chhabria

Season 4 of Khatron Ke Khiladi, tag-lined “Torchaar 4” saw the return of Akshay Kumar as host once again in South Africa in 2011.

This, being the last season which the magnanimous cash prize of Rs. 50 lakhs, was won by model-turned-actress Aarti Chabria while singer-actress Mauli Dave occupied the runner-up position.

Chabria’s claim to fame has traversed through the Hindi, Punjabi, Telugu, and Kannada film industries, having given her opportunities to act in movies like Partner and Shootout at Lokhandwala.

A regular on reality television, Aarti has also competed in the sixth season of Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa two years after this 2011 season of Khatron Ke Khiladi, and also appeared in an episode of Darr Sabko Lagta Hai in 2015.

5. Rajneesh Duggal

Season 5 was the first of many seasons to be hosted by stunt tycoon Rohit Shetty, once again in South Africa, in Summer 2014 with a record number of 17 participants.

TV personality and model Rajneesh Duggal battled it out with fellow TV actor Gurmeet Choudhury to win a cash prize of Rs. 25 lakhs and take home the title in the season tagglined “Darr Ka Blockbuster.”

Duggal had earlier won titles like Mr. India World, Grasim Mr. India 2003 and Mr. International, 2003.

Rajneesh made his acting debut in 2008 with horror film 1920 and has since acted in a few more films delving into the realm of the supernatural.

After winning his Khatron Ke Khiladi title, Duggal has forayed into playing Godly roles of Lord Ram and Lord Krishna for TV.He has also played roles in romantic and dark romantic films, notably including Beiimaan Love opposite Sunny Leone in 2016.

6. Aashish Chaudhary

The 2015 season saw Rohit Shetty returning to South Africa with 15 contestants and a cash prize of Rs. 25 lakhs finally awarded to TV actor Ashish Chaudhary.

Ashish Chaudhury’s claim to fame is traced back to his role in Dhamaal and Double Dhamaal as Boman and his role as Mrityunjay Roy in TV Show Beyhadh.

Like his earlier counterpart, Chaudhary also partook the eighth season of dance show Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa.

After his win, he has also been seen in television show Dev as Detective Dev Anand Burman.

7. Sidharth Shukla

Television host, actor, and model Sidharth Shukla defeated actress and model Sana Saeed to bag the title of the 7th season of the show taglined "Kabhi पीड़ा Kabhi कीड़ा in Argentina” hosted by Arjun Kapoor in Argentina in 2016.

Shukla took away a cash prize of 20 lakhs for his win, after which he also won the 13th season of reality show Big Boss, hosted Savdhaan India and

India’s Got Talent, made his Bollywood Debut as a supporting actor in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, and also appeared in a web series called Broken But Beautiful 3. 

Before these, Shukla was most famously known for his role in television series Balika Vadhu and Dil Se Dil Tak.  Sidharth Shukla passed away of a heart attack at the age of 40 in September 2022

8. Shantanu Maheshwari

Actor, dancer, choreographer and host Shantanu Maheshwari won Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 8 which was hosted again by Rohit Shetty and titled “Pain in Spain.”

Defeating runner-up Hina Khan earned Maheshwari Rs. 20 lakhs in this 2017 season of the show and opened doors to him to become a finalist in both, Jhalak Dikhla Jaa season 9 and Nach Baliya season 9. 

His acting career had begun with Channel V’s Dil Dosti Dance and was carried forward by 2015 show Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya.

After his win on Khatron Ke Khiladi, Maheshwari has given numerous stage performances across the world including at Oxford with his troupe Desi Hoppers and had also won the World of Dance 2015 Dance Championship with them shortly beforehand.

Maheshwari made his Bollywood debut opposite Alia Bhat in Sanjay Leela Bansali’s 2022 film Gangubai Kathiawadi.

9. Punit Pathak

The 2019 season, tag-lined “jigger pe trigger” was hosted in Argentina by Rohit Shetty and dancer, choreographer and actor Punit Pathak beat singer and host Aditya Narayan and 10 others to win the title and the 20 lakh cash prize that year.

Punit Pathak had participated in Dance India Dance and choreographed for Jhalak Dikhla Jaa for many years before his win and has since gone on to judge reality dance shows as well. 

Puneet most recently appeared in the 2020 dance film Street Dancer 3D alongside Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor, and Prabhu Deva.

He is well-known for his role in the Remo D’Souza directed film ABCD: Anybody Can Dance, and since 2018, has starred in film Nawaabzade, performed at Isha Ambani’s sangeet, choreographed the finale performance for IPL, and called as a guest on Khatra, Khatra, Khatra.

10. Karishma Tanna

The first of the seasons hosted in 2020 following abruptions by the COVID-19 pandemic, the tenth seasons was divided into two parts owing to the pandemic and was hosted in Bulgaria by Rohit Shetty and was tagglined “Darr ka Class.”

Karishma Tanna, an actress, model, and anchor beat runner-up actor Karan Patel for the coveted title and prize of Rs. 30 lakhs.

Tanna is known for her work in Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Naagin 3, Qayaamat Ki Raat, and Baalveer.

Tanna has also participated in other reality TV shows like Naachke Dikha, Nach Baliye, Big Boss, and Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa, and famously played a role in Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju- a biopic of Bollywood Actor Sanjay Dutt.

11. Nia Sharma

Nia Sharma is the winner of a limited edition season of the show titled Khatron Ke Khiladi- Made in India which was filmed entirely in Mumbai and hosted by Rohit Shetty and Farah Khan.

Sharma beat TV actor and model Karan Wahi for this title.

Nia Sharma is an actress and model popularly known for her roles in Jamai Raja, Ishq Mein Marjawaan, Naagin 4, and Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai on TV. 

She was most recently seen in her web series Jamai 2.0 in March 2021.
