1. Makar Sankranti (January 14)

4. Ram Navami (April 10)

Hindus observe this day to honor and commemorate Lord Rama's birth. It is celebrated on the ninth day of the first month of the Hindu Lunar calendar.

5. Ugadi (April 13)

The southern Indian area of India celebrates Ugadi as the first day of the new year.

6. Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti (April 14)

Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti is celebrated to mark the birthday of the Indian jurist, politician, freedom fighter and a pioneer of Indian history, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.

7. Good Friday (April 15)

It is the day Jesus Christ died for the sins of the people. The Christians all over India celebrate Good Friday to mark the death of Jesus Christ.

13. Muharram (August 9)

The Islamic New Year begins on Muharram. Any kind of violence or conflict is prohibited on this day.

14. Janmashtami (August 19)

Janmashtami is celebrated by the Hindus to mark the birth of the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu, Lord Krishna.

15. Ganesh Chaturthi (August 31)

Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated by the Hindus to commemorate the birth of the elephant headed deity, Ganesha. It is a 10 days long festival and is to mark the day of the birth of the God of prosperity and wisdom.

16. First day of Bathukamma (September 25)

The first day of Bathukamma is celebrated as the beginning of Sard or Sharath Ruthu. It is the first day of the 9 days long festival of Bathukamma, the festival of Life.

17. Gandhi Jayanti (0ctober 2)

This day commemorates the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. On this day people perform prayers and pay homage across different states.

18. Vijaya Dashami (October 5)

Vijaya Dashami is celebrated as the day that marks the defeat of Ravan by Ram after abducting Ram’s wife, Sita.

19. Eid e Milad (October 9)

Eid e Milad is celebrated to mark and commemorate the birthday of the Islamic Prophet Hazrat Muhammad.

20. Diwali (October 24)

Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, and Jains all celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights. There are lights, fireworks, and individuals dressed up wonderfully during this festivity.

21. Karthika Purnima/ Guru Nayak Jayanti (November 8)

Karthika Purnima also known as Guru Nayak Jayanti is celebrated all over India to mark and commemorate the birth of Guru Nanak who was the founder of Sikhism.

22. Christmas Day (December 25)

Christmas Day is celebrated by the Christians all over India and all over the world to mark and commemorate the birth of the savior Jesus Christ.
