Want to know Captain of Indian Cricket Team ? Well you have landed on the right article. India’s cricketing journey started in the 1800s.

It was during this time that cricket gained popularity among Indians, and cricket clubs and gymkhanas were established. Between 1926 and 28, two events set the scene for the future of Indian cricket.

One was a match between Indian cricketers and England, where players like Prof. D. B. Deodhar, Col. Mistry, Wazir Ali, and C.K. Nayudu exhibited exemplary cricketing skills.

This prompted the touring team’s captain, Arthur Gilligan, to suggest that provided India had a single controlling entity that could bring together all the different teams, he was willing to advocate India’s admittance to the ICC.

Thus, the Board of Control for Cricket in India was established, and India became an ICC member. In 1932, Team India played its maiden test cricket under the captaincy of C.K. Nayudu.

Once the one-day format became popular, India’s first-ever International limited overs match was against England in 1974 under the captaincy of Ajit Wadekar.
