  • It is said that when Kalidasa’s wife, a beautiful princess, left him, he was in deep despair. He wanted to drown himself in the river Saraswati.

    However, before he could succeed, the goddess appeared before him and asked him to take a dip in the water. Once he had done so, he was filled with immense wisdom and went on to do great things.
