Significance of Purnima in January 2022

Purnima on January 17 is the first Purnima of the year according to the English calendar. This Purnima of January is known as Paush Purnima, it is considered to have great significance in the Hindu calendar as the day marks the beginning of Magha, a Hindu calendar month.

 It is believed that God in the month of Magha came down to the earth and took a bath in Ganga.
