Significance of Aarti Dattachi

  1. "Triunetika Trimurti Dutt Ha Jana"- implies that Deity Datta has three faces and is composed of the triguns (the three fundamental parts of the human body: Sattva, Raja, and Tama) because of His purpose.

A portion of the triad of deities gave birth to Deity Datta (Deity Brahma, Shrivishnu, and Deity Shiva). Though they are trigunait (The state beyond trigunas (Three spiritual components)), the trinity of Deities, which stand for Creation, Sustenance, and Destruction, support Sattva, Raja, and Tama according to their duty.

  2. "neti neti Shabd yah anumaan Nahin"- implies that The Vedas attempted to describe Lord Datta's characteristics, but because they were unable to do so, they simply designated Him as "Neti Neti" which translates as "not like this, not even like this."

  3. "Sabhya Abhyantari Tu Ek Dutt" - meaning inside. You are Datta, which means that you are composed of Gurutattva and Ishwartattva (God Principle).

  4. "Parahi Partli Tethe Cache Hote" - What was the point of using the para Vani, which is a seer's mode of speech in which one experiences non-duality with the Name, to describe Your features?

Para vani is unable to describe Deity Datta since His form is beyond turyavastha (the fourth condition beyond waking, sleep, and dream). The para vani turned away because she was unable to describe Him.

  5. "maranaachapuree se janm samaapt" - means Deity Datta's form is unchanging, limitless, and either predates time itself or has been without beginning. The terms "birth" and "death" are meaningless in this situation.

Benefits of Aarti Dattachi

Chanting this mantra provides mental peace and grants the wishes of true devotees. It shows loyalty and pureness of heart.

Datachi is a manifestation of Lord Vishnu in other areas and in some versions of literature like the Garuda Purana,Brahma Purana, and Sattvata Samhita.

Several Upanishads as well as works from the Vedanta-Yoga school of Sanatani/Hinduism are devoted to him. Dattatreya is recognized for authoring the Avadhuta Gita, one of Hinduism's most significant books, often known as the "song of the free spirit."
