Significance of Rashtragaan
The National Anthem, written by Noble Laureate Rabindranath Tagore, acts as a catalyst for patriotism and pride toward our nation. Originally written in Bengali Sanskrit and consisting of five stanzas,
Only one is adopted and popularly sung as The National Anthem of India. It shows us the various diversities in our land and the culture of different states and religions.
Yet it also acts as a glue that holds us all together. No matter where in India we are from, the way we dress, the language we speak, the Gods we pray to, we hold our heads high as we sing our Rashtra Gaan.
Like a family, we give up on our internal fights when our home is in danger. We stand shoulder to shoulder, goosebumps on our skin. The National Anthem has always played a significant role in holding us together.
When in foreign lands, this song has brought shared smiles among people of our country, setting aside all our differences. And in a country as diversified as ours, bringing unity is hard to achieve.
Yet, this beloved song resonates in all our hearts with the one thing that unites us - our pride and loyalty to our motherland, India.
Benefits
It helps us to leave behind our prejudices from any culture or way of life followed by our fellow countrymen, which may differ from ours, and to open our hearts to all Indians alike in times of need.
It provides us with a sense of home, however far we are from our family. It reminds us of the country that we are so proud of rashtragaan.
