This is a list of valid documents for aadhar that are accepted as identity proof. The prerequisite of the identity proof document is our photograph and name.

  6. Id card issued by a recognized educational institute with a photograph on it.

  1. Passport

  2. PAN card

  3. SSLC certificate or book with date of birth on it. 

  4. Birth certificate

  5. Certificate of birth issued by a group of Gazetted officers on a letterhead

  6. Any photo ID card issued by an educational institute recognized by the GOI. 

  7. Photo card of central government health scheme and/or Ex-servicemen Contributory health scheme. 

  8. Pension payment order issued by the central or state government. 

  9. Any ID card or certificate signed and issued by a government authority with the applicant's name and date of birth on it. 

  10. Marksheet issued by any government board or university in India. 

  11. Photo ID card containing photo issued by PSU or the government.

  1. Passbook or bank statement. 

  2. Passport

  3. Ration card or PDS card. 

  4. Driving licence

  5. Passbook of post office or account statement by post office

  8. Electricity bill issued within the last 3 months from date of application.

  12. Receipt of property tax issued in the last 3 months.

  1. PDS/Public Distribution Card

  3. Army canteen card

  10. Document of family entitlement issued by the state or central government

Documents required for Aadhaar Card for Children

If you are applying for Aadhaar card of a minor, who is below the age of 5 years, their biometric information is not required. The Aadhaar card comes in blue colour and is known as Bal Aadhaar Card. 

The two documents required in the case of a child below the age of 5 years are: 

  • Discharge slip from hospital post birth of the child or birth certificate

  • Aadhaar card of one of the parents or any other identity proof of the child’s parents
